Advisory Board

We are excited to have a diversed panel of experts and stakeholders in our Fora of Advisory Stakeholders. The NESTORE Fora of Advisory Stakeholders (FAS) are composed of organisations with a wide experience in the field of ageing, health and information and communication technologies.

The role of each Forum of Advisory Stakeholders at the local level is to offer guidance and advice on issues relevant to the project, according to the different stages of implementation of NESTORE. Advisors are key to help NESTORE better adjust to older persons needs and preferences in specific local contexts.

Meet the board members

Ramón Brugada, SECOT, Spain

Chemical engineer by background, since his retirement Ramon volunteers for networks of seniors for technical cooperation. He is now active within ASenCat, the Associació de Seniors de Catalunya per a l'orientació del talent emprenedor, that is devoted to provide business orientation for young entrepreneurs and small and medium companies.

Nadia Kamel, Eurocarers, Europe

Project Officer at Eurocarers, the European network of informal carers, Nadia has over 10 years of professional experience in the scientific and medical domains, being responsible for providing clear evidence-based policy recommendations for advancing standards for care, education and research for improved respiratory health. Before that she worked in different functions with several engineering associations at EU-level and as environmental coordinator for a Swedish fuels company.

Joan Oliver, Robotics Institute for Dependency, Spain

Joan works at the Instituto de Robótica para la Dependencia, Sitges (Spain), a private, not-for-profit foundation whose mission is to improve the quality of life of dependent persons, their families and the professionals who support them, through the most advanced technology, Joan is passionate for technology and specially for robotics and he is interested in taking part in projects creating innovative robotic products to serve people in the retail, healthcare, entertainment, events or tourism industries.

Vitalba Paesano, Grey Panthers, Italy

Journalist by occupation, Vitalba wrote for “Annabella” (a Weekly Magazine for Women) at the end of '70, when people were discussing on divorce, abortion and feminism. In the ‘80, she covered topics around nutrition, safety and food culture for "La Cucina Italiana", the most important Italian Food Magazine, before moving to “Viaggiesapori”, a new kind of Travel Magazine. Since 2008, is the owner of, the only online magazine intended to readers aged over 50, who shares news about interests and needs in the grey age.

Juan Seleky, GENERO, Netherlands

Formerly a policy officer for the municipality of Breda, Directorate for Development, Housing and Community Affairs, Juan is currently a board member of the Genero Ouderen, the Dutch Network organisations of older migrants (Noom). Noom is a national network of eight organisations of Chinese, Turkish, Moroccan, Antillean, Surinam, Moluccan, Spanish and Italian elderly people working together. Juan is moreover member of the Djalan Pienter knowledge network, aimed at disseminating and securing culture-specific care for Moluccan and Indo-European older people.

Dorota Sienkiewicz, EuroHealthNet, Europe

Policy coordinator at EuroHealthNet, a Brussels-based not-for-profit network of agencies and statutory bodies working on public health, Dorota is a public health advocate. She has 10 years of experience with strong interest in health equity, poverty and social exclusion, vulnerable groups, mental health, gender policies, as well as food systems. She currently works on the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights, health and social determinants of health in the European Semester, digital transformation of health and society and health across the life-course.

Nelly Wittens, Seniorenwelzijn, Netherlands

Nellie is committed at Seniorenwelzijn, the network for the well-being of seniors living at home in Schiedam, Vlaardingen and Maassluis (the Netherlands). The Seniorenwelzijn is a listening ear for people above 50, where Nellie serves in her capacity of manager of operations, overseeing to the day-to-day management of the network.

Paolo Misericordia, FIMMG, Italy

Dr. Paolo Misericordia is a family doctor in the province of Fermo in the Marche region. Graduated in Medicine and Surgery at University of Perugia, specialized in Endocrinology, he is a trainer for Family Medicine and Head of the National Study Center of the Italian Federation of General Practitioners (FIMMG) as well as Provincial Secretary of FIMMG Fermo and National Manager of the Innovation Communication Technology Area of the FIMMG. He also coordinated the implementation and development of an IT platform for cloud data collection from general practitioners, , through which to offer Italian GPs network services.

Harris Lygidakis, WONCA Europe, Europe

Family doctor by training, currently co-leading a PhD project on mHealth in Rwanda, Harris has an interest in several areas of research: eHealth, mobile health, primary health care, global health and health literacy. He has more than 10 years of experience working with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams, and in non-for-profit organizations. He is the former Honorary Secretary for the European branch of the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA Europe).

Sascha Marschang, European Public Health Alliance (EPHA), Europe

Sascha joined EPHA in 2009 where he now is the Deputy Director. He also leads EPHA’s policy work on Digital Health and has written reports, briefings and articles on e/m Health, Big Data, artificial intelligence and related issues. As a member of the European Commission’s eHealth Stakeholder Group he drafted a report on “Health inequalities and eHealth”. He is particularly interested in the impacts of new technology on end users and in the governance aspects of digitalization.
