Workshop: "The rise of the e-coach" at HCI International (July 2020)

Next summer, NESTORE will actively contribute to a parallel session of the HCI International 2020 dedicated to research on the e-coach. The conference will be held from 19th to 24th July in Copenhagen, Denmark. Our partner, Prof. Maurizio Caon is coordinating the paper submission for this session.

An electronic coach, called also virtual coach, is an intelligent system able to support users’ in achieving their personal flourishing. This implies that an e-coach should be able to sense relevant information with reference to its specific context, to recognize the user’s intent, and to provide useful feedback in order to enable her to reach her goal. An e-coach can be applied to many domains: it can support the user in learning a new language, or reaching their best performance, or in adopting a healthy lifestyle, or in reaching any other objective.

Since this is an emerging research domain, this parallel session aims at establishing a first international network to foster exchange of ideas and promote collaborations that will possibly shape the future research agenda on this topic.

Researchers who would like to submit a paper to share their vision and experience in designing and developing e-coaches should contact directly Prof. Maurizio Caon (maurizio.caon@hes-so.ch) because speakers will be selected via invitation.

The deadline for the submission of invited papers is 31st December 2019. Further information on the guidelines for authors can be found here: http://2020.hci.international/invited.html
